Why are you a member of the WWF?

Because I want to make sure other young women like me have opportunities to learn, grow and step into leadership positions in the Waikato.

What are you most looking forward to about being on the committee?

Getting to work alongside some really amazing Waikato women and getting to learn new skills.

What has been a special moment you've experienced through the work of the WWF?

Earlier this year, I had the chance to attend the Waahine Toa:Wisdom Shared event, and found the speakers really inspirational and powerful.

  • Local Waikato cafe you'll be found in: I don’t really go to cafes, but when I do I like to go to our local cafe Ethos and get one of their yum smoothies. Their banana oat one is pretty good!

  • Who is an inspirational woman you look up too? We are lucky to have so many amazing female leaders in New Zealand like Jacinda Ardern and Paula Southgate but, for me, some inspirational women closer to home are Gemma Major and my mum.

  • Recommended book/movie/Ted Talk about women: One of my favourite Teen Ted Talks is by 15-year-old Tavi Gevinson called ‘A Teen Just Trying To Figure It Out’ where she discusses how growing up she found it hard to find strong, female role models to look up to, so she created her own online platform to bring other female teens together to inspire and empower each other.

  • Favourite place to visit in the Waikato: The beautiful Hamilton Gardens.

  • Hidden talent? It’s not really hidden, but I love getting involved and performing in musicals, shows and writing my own music.
